Augusta Chapman is a comic and writer in New York.

My interest in the supernatural began when I was six years old.

I was alone in a graveyard (recreational) when a ghostly figure in a last-season dress appeared and began speaking to me in husted tones. She warned me not to compact with the Devil, then inquired about the health of my parents and offered me some peanut brittle. When I refused she became angry. Then she became confused. Then she boarded a bus that went towards Downtown and paid only in quarters. I have always wondered if she was my aunt, but since she never returned there’s no way to find out.
